Saint-Denis-de-Brompton is a municipality of 4,594 residents (2021 census) in the MRC du Val-Saint-François, in the Eastern Townships (Estrie), known for its lakes and forest cover. It is about 20 minutes from downtown Sherbrooke and from Magog, and about 1 hour 45 minutes from Montreal. It attracts families and outdoor lovers who want the country close to the city.

The municipality has five lakes, including Petit lac Brompton, Lac Desmarais and Lac Montjoie, and shares Lac Brompton, about 12 km long, with Racine and Orford. A public boat launch on côte de l’Artiste provides access to the big lake, from which the Rivière au Saumon flows. In winter, the Les Fondeurs club grooms 18 km of cross-country ski trails.

The volunteer committee Culture SDDB offers exhibitions at the library, outdoor movies, a choir and Orford Musique recitals at the church. On the shore of Lac Brompton, Domaine Lac Brompton runs a brewery-restaurant open seven days a week, rents pontoon boats and maintains more than 25 km of fat bike trails.
