Orford

Orford is a township municipality of 5,007 residents (2021 census) in the MRC de Memphrémagog, in the Eastern Townships (Estrie), next to Magog and dominated by Mount Orford and its national park. A little over an hour and a half from Montreal via Highway 10 and about 30 minutes from Sherbrooke, it is made for outdoor enthusiasts, active families and cottagers.

The territory is organized around chemin du Parc and the Cherry River area, home to hotels, restaurants and shops, with residential areas scattered among forests, lakes and hillsides. The Mont-Orford ski resort sits right in the park, and two golf courses, Mont-Orford and Manoir des Sables, complete the offer. For a change of slopes, Mount Owl’s Head, in Potton, is less than an hour’s drive away.

Culture and local flavours

Founded in 1951, Orford Musique celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2026. Its academy trains the next generation, and from June to August its festival presents major classical and jazz concerts at Salle Gilles-Lefebvre, plus some forty free concerts, including the Vendredis musicaux at Parc de la Rivière-aux-Cerises. Vignoble d’Orford, Herbes Orford and Ferme Marilau are among the township’s producers, and restaurants such as Mifigue and Deux Tomates round out the scene.
