Lambton

Lambton is a municipality of 1,630 residents (2021 census) in the MRC du Granit, in the Eastern Townships (Estrie), on the east shore of Grand lac Saint-François. The village is about 1 hour 15 minutes from Sherbrooke and a little under 3 hours from Montreal. It appeals to cottagers, active retirees and families who want a large lake close by.

Incorporated as a municipality in 1847, Lambton takes its name from Lord Durham. A 12-panel historical circuit tells its story, including the great fire of 1905. In summer, the Galerie d’art du Presbytère presents exhibitions and an annual photo contest. At the table, Boulangerie Lambton and the restaurants on rue Principale keep the heart of the village alive.
